We strongly recommend that you provide your Social Security number, which will enable you to quickly retrieve your myCuesta login, apply for financial aid and to claim the education tax credit.

 

You need to apply for admission if you have never attended Cuesta College or are a former student who has been absent two or more semesters. If you choose to apply online, you must apply for admission at least two (2) working days before you register.  Remember, Applying and Registering are two different activities.

 

Students wishing to enroll in the special programs listed below may have additional admission requirements.  Click on the following links for more information: 

  • Enrichment students: Concurrently enrolled in both high school and Cuesta College.
  • International students: In addition to this online application, International F-1Visa students must complete an International Admission Application. Click on International Students link for more information.
  • Allied Health ProgramsNursing, LVN, Paramedic, Psychiatric Technician must complete a separate application with additional admissions requirements. Click on Allied Health Program link for more information.

Applicants will receive a printed welcome letter within 5-7 working days.  Review the Apply and Register web site for information on steps to complete prior to registering such as submitting official transcripts, assessment testing, and orientation.

 

CHOOSING YOUR INTENDED MAJOR & EDUCATIONAL GOAL:

The goal and degree/certificate information you select when you apply for admission to Cuesta must be your goal and AA/AS degree and/or Certificate that you plan to complete at Cuesta. When you begin the application to Cuesta, you will be asked to select your intended major or program of study. Please review the Cuesta College Catalog for our degree and certificate programs. Transfer certification (C.A. IGETC/CSU Breadth) and transfer degrees (Liberal Arts) are available.

TR – Transfer

AA / AS – Associate of Arts, Associate of Science Degrees

ONLINE REGISTRATION:
Once your application is received and processed, you may retrieve your login to myCuesta web services online at https://my.cuesta.edu - click on the "Get Student Username & Temporary Password" link.  If you declined to provide your Social Security number, you will receive your myCuesta login information in 5-7 working days via U.S. Mail or you may come in-person with photo ID for assistance.  In myCuesta, go to the Student tab and My Web Services channel.  Click on Banner Self-Service, then Student, then Registration and Registration Status.  Your Registration Status will provide your date to register (time-ticket) and alert you to any holds or obligations that may prevent you from registering.

 

WALK-IN REGISTRATION:

Students may register in-person the week prior to the start of the term.   Walk-in registration dates are posted on the Registration Office web site.

  • New First-Time College Students and Re-Entry Students are encouraged to attend Great Start assessment, orientation, and registration dates. Apply first then sign up.

How to Use the Cuesta College Online Application
To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the [Next] button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.

Once you have completed the application, click the [Submit] button located on the left column to submit the application.
