The California Community College System offers an Open Admission Policy

A message from the campus:

We are accepting applications for the Spring 2009 semester.

After submitting your application online, make sure to complete the following steps:

  • Make assessment and orientation appointments if you are a new student, (Call 270-6475).
  • Submit an R-40 if you are a high school student (PDF below)
  • See a counselor if you are a transfer student with transcripts from other colleges or a returning student needing to update your educational plan. Call Counseling at 270-6475.

The Spring 2009 schedule of classes will be available in PDF and HTML versions on our web page www.evc.edu some time in October.  "Search for Classes" at myweb.sjeccd.org for real time course availability.

Concurrently enrolled high school students:

  • Must submit an R-40 form (PDF at this site), listing specific courses for which they wish to register, signed by their high school principal and parent/legal guardian;
  • Must submit a new R-40 each term,
  • are not able to enroll in PE or basic skills (300 level) courses;
  • must complete assessment prior to enrolling.
  • Homeschooled/junior high students must also complete the R-42 form, and make an appointment to meet with the Director of Admissions after completing assessment.

Application Instructions

  • Complete this online application. After you are finished, click the SUBMIT button located on the left column of the application and follow the directions.
  • NO FEES are charged for a California Community College admission application. Fees may be charged for the additional international application from each campus.
  • REQUEST official transcripts from previous schools attended be sent to the records office at the address below.
  • High school students who wish to enroll in EVC courses must also submit an R-40 Form with their application/signature page. This form must be signed by parent or legal guardian, the high school principal, and identify the specific course(s) the student wishes to take.

How to Use the Evergreen Valley College Online Application
To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the [Next] button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.

Once you have completed the application, click the [Submit] button located on the left column to submit the application.
